Low Country Recovery Institute is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Beaufort and Jasper Counties, South Carolina. We help individuals and families overcome addiction through Christ-centered recovery, counseling, sober housing, mentoring, education, and community partnerships.

For more than eight years, we have walked alongside hundreds of people seeking freedom from addiction, trauma, homelessness, incarceration, and broken relationships.

Our Mission

Rooted in faith, compassion, and the dignity of every person, our mission is to provide a safe, alcohol and drug-free community that fosters physical, mental, and spiritual well-being where individuals can find hope, healing, restoration, and lasting recovery. We are committed to reducing the stigma surrounding substance use disorders, breaking generational cycles of addiction, addressing trauma, while equipping addicts, their families, churches, and community partners to create lasting systemic change through collaboration, education, and service.

How our story became God’s story

What began as one family’s healing has grown into a ministry for the whole Low Country.

2010

A move to Hilton Head

Deb and Don relocate to Hilton Head Island and found Live to Give a God Thing, serving vulnerable children and families.

The turning point

Seeing addiction at the source

Through that work, they witness how addiction is devastating children, parents, and entire families.

Equipped

Training for the calling

Deb earns a Master’s in Biblical Counseling and a Doctorate in Theology to devote her life to recovery ministry.
